Novak Pulled Out from US Open 2022

 

On Thursday 25th August 2022, Former world number one Novak declared that he was unable to travel to New York to play in the 2022 US Open Tennis final grand slam because he was not vaccinated.

 
Current regulations require travelers to show proof of full immunization when boarding and entering the United States.

Djokovic tweeted, "Unfortunately, I am unable to travel to New York to play in the US Open this time”. "Good luck to my teammates! I will stay healthy and stay positive waiting for the chance to play again."

 

Previously Serbian player said that he was ready to miss the Grand Slam events that need players to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

Novak was on the list of participants from August 29 to September 11 in New York. This year, he missed the Australian Open Grand Slam event after being ejected from Australia due to his vaccination status.
